Goals
Tenth grade Mathematics II students will focus on being able to solve problems involving circles based on the properties and relationships that exist among arcs, chords, tangent lines, angles, volume and surface area.
Objectives
By the end of this module, students will:
MM2G3. Students will understand the properties of circles.
a. Understand and use properties of chords, tangents, and secants as an application of triangle similarity.
b. Understand and use properties of central, inscribed, and related angles.
c. Use the properties of circles to solve problems involving the length of an arc and the area of a sector.
d. Justify measurements and relationships in circles using geometric and algebraic properties.
MM2G4. Students will find and compare the measures of spheres.
a. Use and apply surface area and volume of a sphere.
b. Determine the effect on surface area and volume of changing the radius or diameter of a sphere.

Instructor and Student Interaction Expectations
Students are expected to check their messages, discussion boards, and assignments at least every other day (weekdays). Any messages should be responded to within two days. The instructor will answer any messages within 24 hours. If any situations arise that prevent you from your work, please notify your instructor immediately.
Learner Guidance
As a student, it is your responsibility to ask questions or ask for clarification about topics and content that you are unsure after the available resources have been utilized. As the instructor, I will make sure there are clear instructions for how to complete assignments and when to submit assign assignments.
Academic Honesty
You are expected to do your own work. You may not copy and paste from another student or website unless you follow instructions about how to tell where you found your work.
Professionalism / Disposition
Within this class, students are expected to respect others' opinions, complete assignments on time, regularly attend class (online and/or face-to-face), make an effort to complete assignments completely and correctly, pay careful attention to detail in following instructions, be helpful to peers, and exhibit cooperation in group work situations.
Class Organization
This class will be taught during a two week period with a third week available for follow up. All assignments will be administered online, but access to computers and time for completion will be given during regular school hours. There will be another teacher in the room to provide assistance with computers or technical difficulty during the online learning.
